Security-Minded Systems Thinker

I think before I build.

I turn messy, ambiguous problems into secure, dependable systems, built to hold up at scale.

How I work

The thinking is the differentiator — not the code.

Building has never been faster or cheaper, but fast and working isn't the same as sound. The thinking that makes a system secure and survivable is the first thing speed skips.

Most people start by building. I start by understanding.

Give me a problem or a system that already exists but isn't quite holding up and the first thing I do is slow down. I dig into what's actually being asked, who it's for, and where it could quietly break. I study existing systems critically for the gaps most people miss: security and operations. Only once the thinking is sound do I design and build. That order is the difference between something that works in the demo and something that holds up in the real world. It isn't about the job title, it's about what I bring to the table, whatever table that is.

01 — Understand deeply

Understand deeply

Requirements, people, edge cases, and the way things really get used. I refine the thinking before a line of code exists.

02 — Find where it breaks

Find where it breaks

I pressure-test for the weak points others overlook especially security and operational gaps, and design them out.

03 — Build to hold up

Build to hold up

Systems that work and stay secure, at the scale they're actually used. Looks good, works well, doesn't fall over.

Who I am

The thinking has a person behind it.

I'm a systems thinker with a security and cloud backbone. For more than five years I've helped build, run, and harden large-scale digital systems, much of it in demanding public-sector environments where downtime and lost data simply aren't options. I hold a Master's in Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity (Distinction) and I'm an AWS-certified Solutions Architect however what I do is simpler to say than to list: I take a tangled problem, think it through properly, and turn it into something that works and stays secure.

What drives me is a belief that systems should be trustworthy by design, not just functional. I care as much about where something could quietly break as about whether it ships. It's also why I build for everyday people and not only experts: I created BeSecureWise because those most exposed to online scams and privacy loss are usually given the least help to stay safe. Whatever the project, the aim is the same, solutions that create real value and hold up in the real world.

04 — Where systems meet reality

I don't just build systems. I keep them running.

For more than five years, I've worked at the intersection of technology and public health, supporting the implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of large-scale digital systems. Most significantly, I've helped manage and evolve Ghana's implementation of SORMAS, a national disease surveillance and outbreak management platform used to support public health decision-making.

My work has spanned requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, system configuration, deployment support, user training, operational monitoring, incident response, and ongoing platform optimisation. I regularly bridge the gap between public health teams, technical specialists, vendors, and decision-makers to keep systems reliable, secure, and fit for purpose.

Some of the most valuable lessons have come from operating critical systems in production. I've led investigations and recovery efforts during significant service disruptions, helping restore normal operations while safeguarding data integrity and keeping the people who depend on these systems confident in them. Those experiences reinforced a belief that runs through all my work: resilience, security, and maintainability matter as much as features.
